This course is an intensive lab course, practical in nature. It involves a full vocal and physical warm-up, which easily takes twenty to thirty minutes each meeting. In addition, the class also has a component of both individual and small group scene and monologue work in which the instructor attempts to personally work either with individuals or partners. This course is a lab course, which involves intense individual and partner instruction. To work through a single partner scene at this advanced level can easily take 25-40 minutes. In order to give each of the students the attention they require, a two-hour time slot is required for each meeting. Within this time-intensive framework, effective instruction can be given. Without it, only the most superficial progress will be made.
